Reporting directly to the Executive VP & CFO, the Logistics Manager is a permanent full time position. This Management role will be responsible for managing all facets of logistics while always ensuring that brand Integrity is maintained and that the application of Olsen Europe’s Operating Philosophies are achieved:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Logistics Manager is responsible for the success of assigned functions within the Olsen Europe distribution center. This position will be responsible for the supervision of:
- Inbound Operations (Unloading and Receiving)
- Warehouse Operations (Pick-Pack, Break-Pack)
- Outbound Operations (Loading)
- Transportation Operations (Shipping to retail stores, returns from stores and shipping to wholesale customers)
- Office Operations (e.g., tracking of shipments, monitoring the movement of merchandise to retail stores to meet timelines specified by the Merchandising dept.)
- Develop strategies and objectives to maximize productivity and leverage expenses
- Analyze trends, solve problems and motivate and develop the logistics team in order to maximize the efficiency of the Olsen Europe distribution centre
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Schedule the incoming and outgoing movement of all freight and customer deliveries
- Monitor the quality, cost & efficiency of movement of merchandise to and from the distribution centre
- Record and analyse data related to incoming and outgoing movement of goods to improve efficiencies and the overall performance of the distribution centre
- Manage both full time and part time staffing resources as needed
- Coordinate and control the efficient pick/pack/scan of all divisions within the business, which includes, retail operations in Canada and wholesale operations in Canada and the US
- Ensure proper safety measures are being followed in accordance with the Joint, Health & Safety Committee as well as applicable laws
- Negotiate all freight rates for both inbound and outbound shipments, as well as the shipping of all wholesale customer orders that move via truckload, LTL or courier
- Negotiate the purchase of all department supplies such as corrugate, shipping supplies, etc.
- Supervise staff that manages the movement of inventory and its entry into the company inventory tracking software
- Manage the relationship with both the CDN & US custom brokers
- Supervise staff that generates all documents related to the entry of goods through the CDN & US borders
- Manage duty drawbacks to be generated for both CDN & US customs
- Ensure that the distribution centre layout maximizes the efficient use of space and makes changes to the layout, as necessary based on business conditions
- Manage new projects within the Logistics dept as needed
- Set clear and manageable goals for the logistics team and set up processes to measure those objectives
- Develop and manage the annual budget for the department
- Make appropriate changes to the annual budget as required by the business
- Meet regularly with key reports including the Warehouse Supervisor, Inventory Control Supervisor and the Warehouse Admin Supervisor to manage and measure objectives
- Manage relationships with suppliers in Europe and Asia
- Payroll / HR related functions, as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel applications
- Previous change management experience (driving, influencing and inspiring change through communication at all impacted levels)
- Project Management skills
- Health & Safety and First Aid Certifications are an asset
