Longo’s is looking for an experienced Store Manager who is passionate about food and the food retail industry. This position will be responsible for the overall leadership, coaching, development and execution of the Genuine Merchant Strategy, People Vision and for the financial results and key metrics of their respective store. If you have a proven track record of results as a Store Manager in the food retail industry, are an excellent communicator and are passionate about leading and coaching a team, we’d like to hear from you! This position will be located in the Greater Toronto Area.

Store Managers are responsible for:

  • Leading by example the Longo’s key values; Honesty, Trustworthiness and Mutual Respect
  • Building a strong team to execute against our overall business strategy  
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment and dedication to hold him/herself and team members to a high level of customer service at all times
  • Coaching the Assistant Store Manager and Department Management teams to create and execute strategic plans to achieve store financial targets including sales, margins, labour wage %, shrink etc.
  • On-going management and control of the store’s overall budget  
  • Coaching the management team to ensure proper scheduling, successful inventory management and superior merchandizing techniques  
  • Analysing key business metrics and establishing action plans to achieve targets including turnover, engagement scores, health & safety, food safety, EBITDA etc.
  • Monitoring competitors and react to changing local market conditions
  • Creating and maintaining a cohesive team environment dedicated to the common goal

 

What you bring to the team:

  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience in the food retail
  • Solid understanding of sales/margin calculations, product mix and consumer behaviours with a proven track record of delivering on financial targets
  • Experience with recruiting, managing performance and team building
  • Strong understanding of/and commitment to Employment Standards including, Health and Safety Food Safety and Loss Prevention practices
  • Knowledge of temperature control, merchandising and cross-merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
